Layers

In the Layers subpanel check the checkbox next to your desired layer in order to turn on it's visibility or uncheck to turn off it's visibility. Multiple overlays can be active but only 1 base layer can be active at the same time.

Mouse over layer's name for 1 second to display it's metadata. There is a Zoom to layer button in the top right of the metadata window.

If you have marked a layer visible and it's name turned gray this means that the layer is not visible at current scale. Check layer metadata for minimum and maximum scale values.
